Genome Analysis spin-off is a startup specializing in the field of genetics. Through a collaboration with Harokopeio University of Athens, Genome Analysis develops Polygenic Risk Scores (PRS) for various genetic traits and diseases, focusing on lifestyle and risk prediction. PRSs are simple genotype scoring schemes which take into account many genetic variations of an individual and based on the calculated score, attempt to assess a heritable risk of developing/expressing a particular phenotype or combination of phenotypes. For the purpose of developing PRSs with clinical perspective, Genome Analysis has developed computational methodologies to extract PRS from cohorts as well as test and adjust them to the Greek population. Its vision comprises active involvement in the healthcare sector by establishing partnerships with healthcare professionals by providing them with genetic tests and training to equip them with the knowledge and tools required to integrate personalized prevention and treatment approaches into their services.
