ATHENA, smartHEALTH EDIH’s partner, organized the workshop entitled “Anonymising healthcare data using the Amnesia Anonymisation tool”, on October 15, 2024.

The workshop “Anonymising healthcare data using the Amnesia Anonymisation tool” was organised by the OHDSI-GR (Observational Health Data Sciences and Informatics) Node, in collaboration with the ATHENA research centre. More specifically, Dr. Manolis Terrovitis, Principal investigator at the Institute of Information Systems of the Athena Research Centre, presented the basic principles of anonymisation of medical data offered by the technical tool “Amnesia Anonymisation Tool”, a free and user-friendly web software. The workshop aimed to answer the question “What is anonymisation of medical data, when is it successful, and how can it be achieved?”, and was held within the framework of the smartHEALTH EDIH project.
