Medical Big Data visual analytics
As large amounts of medical data are being collected by the national health systems, by health-related applications and IoT sensors in real time, methods that facilitate the extraction of meaningful information from the raw data to gain insights are imperative. CERTH, through the activities of the Visual Analytics Lab, has a long experience in the development of visual analytics methods for Big Data in the health domain. CERTH has developed methods for visualizing information that is both large in scale and diverse in nature, merging multiple types of representations (modalities). The developed methods include multivariate time series visualization, hierarchical structure visualization, as well as custom-made types of charts for specific domains or dataset characteristics. Visualizations have also been used to enhance the explainability of AI, in the form of Shapley features or temporal salient maps. CERTH can provide the necessary know-how, from experience sharing regarding medical data visualization, as well as real-world testing and deployment of data visualization solutions.
