In January 2023, the smartHEALTH Hub managed to attend a significant event, the Kick-Off Meeting of the Smart Attica European Digital Innovation Hub (Smart Attica EDIH). This event, held on January 31, 2023, marked the start of action for the Smart Attica EDIH, the first European Hub for Digital Innovation in Artificial Intelligence in Greece.
The project manager of the smartHEALTH Hub, Mr. Dimitris Philippidis, had the honor of presenting the smartHEALTH Hub during this important event. The smartHEALTH Hub aims to assist small and medium-sized enterprises, startups, midcaps, and the public sector in improving their business processes and products/services through the use of digital technology. Our hub operates in the fields of Medical Precision, Cancer treatment, and the digital transformation of the public sector.
The Smart Attica EDIH Hub aims to digitally transform the Attica region and subsequently the whole of Greece, focusing on three critical sectors of the Greek economy: Energy & Environment, Supply Chain & Mobility, and Culture & Tourism. By collaborating with the European network of European Digital Innovation Centers, Smart Attica aims to support SMEs and public bodies in their journey towards digital transformation. This hub will provide services based on its experience in Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, High-Performance Computing applications, 5G technology, and cybersecurity.

The opening ceremony took place at the Institute of Scientific Research “Demokritos” in Agia Paraskevi, with the participation of significant figures such as the Deputy Minister of Research and Technology, Christos Dimas, the General Secretary of Governance and Simplification of Procedures of the Ministry of Digital Governance, Leonidas Christopoulos, the Regional Governor of Attica, Giorgos Patoulis, and the Deputy Mayor of Digital Transition and Education of the Municipality of Athens, Nikolaos Vafeiadis. Their presence underscored the importance of accelerating digital transformation in businesses, the public sector, and society in Greece, with a direct impact on the quality of life of citizens and the competitiveness of the Greek economy.
The smartHEALTH Hub continues to be a protagonist in promoting digital and intelligent health in Greece and Europe, aiming to support innovation and digital transformation in the healthcare sector and beyond.
